The Clerk is responsible for implementation of corrective and preventive actions, product and process changes to maintain quality levels and regulatory compliance.  As the principal contact and relationship manager with the factories, this position is responsible for the internal and external audit of the technical tack process and policy.  Works closely with technical designers, graphics designers, sourcing teams as well as external partners for best practices and on-time production schedules. 

Collaborates with cross functional teams, division and category managers and Bioworld global partners for the assurance of uniformity and consistency as it pertains to artwork placement, fit, construction and quality.  The position is a dual reporting role, working under the direction of the VP of Merchandising and the division and category manager whereby all apparel and operational information/issues/needs is communicated and addressed accordingly. 

QUALIFICATIONS – Must Meet Qualifications to be Considered

  • Thorough understanding of Bioworld’s factory base in China, Bangladesh, Mexico, U.S., and Central Americas. 

  • Proven Capabilities of expansion into other countries.

  • Strong quality control and factory development experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of garment manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, trim and print techniques.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and all other applicable standards.

  • Analysis and management of processes workflow

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; Communicate technical knowledge in presentations and open forums.

  • Multitask, highly motivated, positive and strong work and team ethics.

  • Coaching and mentoring;      

  • Accountable to follow through on a task from beginning to end.

  • Proficiency in computer skills: PLM, Adobe Illustrator Outlook, Excel, Word, Accumark


  • Collaborate with art team to provide highest quality samples

  • Continuous manufacturing and technology enhancements; stay current with manufacturing practices

  • Relationship management with factories, make the most of strengths and provide direction to minimize weaknesses.

  • Work in partnership with sourcing agents for pricing and profitability.

  • Follow and enforce production standards and cohesiveness of brand, where appropriate, across categories, vendors and factories, from first samples to final deliveries

  • Monitors and responds to WIP report activity, spearhead efforts to apply technical efforts for overlapping project timelines.

  • Coach and mentor staff, customers, and factories as applicable and works closely with Factory Control Manager to assess, aid in on boarding of new factories

  • Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds, maneuver mannequin forms when evaluating proper fit.

  • Occasional transporting of samples    


Art or FashionDegree or equivalent work experience (4yrs work experience = 1 year University)

5-10 years technical design experience in the garment industry- at least 5 years in Apparel


The regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm, and as needed to meet business goals and objectives.  Flexible and able to work the hours needed to get the job done.
